The Eric Merrill Project

is an organic journey of stories told in song, stories of the perspective life of those who choose the ways of the Lord God.

The project began as a collaborative effort, with Eric reaching out to longtime friends Jacob Ellzey and Daryl Wicker for assistance, in producing his first independent solo project. The initial concept involved the completion and release of songs individually; however, do to unforeseen complications, an alternative plan was subsequently adopted, requiring additions to the production team, principally Hamilton Hardin, and the ambitious goal pursuant to the completion of a multi-song project in short order began. One can say, it appears to have worked quite well indeed.

Stylistically, the likes of Michael Franks, James Taylor, and Earl Klugh, among others, come to mind, though there is a definite, and fresh uniqueness that Eric’s presentations encompass, and with the assistance of the production team, that uniqueness is being magnificently realized. From the simplicity of Eric’s nylon string guitar, to the rhythmic inclusions of ethnic syncopation, woven in vocal melodic tapestry; songs descriptive of life, love, and relationship, with one another, and with The God of all creation…such wonderful stories. This is what creativity sounds like.
