“One of my best friends and his wife were having a celebration as they introduced their new boy child. I wanted to gift them with their own song, and since his favorite style of music is the blues, I tried to create something in that vein. The Lord God gave me something quite perfect”

Where We Come From
“Our parents were celebrating their 59 Wedding Anniversary, and I was asked to sing. They are amazing parents, and this song only slightly tells this story. By the way, this was one of the first songs written from the guitar; that’s actually how I’m learning to play the guitar…through the writing of songs. Thank you Lord Jesus for entrusting me with such a wonderful tool of ministry”

Waited such a Long time to have another little one in our lives
We have a beautiful girl, and now a little boy would make things just alright
//: (Well) 10 or 12 yesterdays
A little boy came our way
And he’s just alright now
We had started thinking, “What we gon’ do if things don’t go our way
we’ve been plannin’, dreamin’, but things are getting gloomy now
Will we ever see that day”
Well I’m happy to tell you
//:
:/: And now the Love’s will be singin’ pretty little love songs
Yea the Love’s will be singin’ little lullaby songs
We’ve got 2 bundles of joy in our home now
Ain’t it so wonderful
//:
Now it’s been a long time comin’ but thank God he’s here now
And we’re just full of joy and pride and smiles
It’s alright now
://:
Songs like…Hush pretty little baby don’t you cry
You know mommy loves you
Daddy’s always by your side
We’ve got 2 bundles of joy in our home now
Ain’t it so wonderful

By the dawning of the day
The man was on his way
He had to care for his family
And he did it every day
Now that there’s a real good inheritance
Daddy gave
To help us grow up right
Sometimes she had to fight
But show found a way to love, and
She helped us come to know God, and
I remember like it was yesterday
And I have to say
Now that there’s a real fine foundation
Momma gave
//: That’s where we come from
When a man and woman love strong
That’s where we come from
There’ve been some days when
Only God could keep us goin’
That’s where we come from
They showed us how
They taught us how
To navigate through this life
He really cared for his family
She helped us come to know Jesus Christ
I remember like is was yesterday in a happy way
We’ve got a real, real rich heritage
//: …When they decided to love
Now it’s our turn to love
And if we do it right then maybe our children will
Maybe they’ll sing then
“That’s where we come from”
